There always seems to be a GFT cream thread or comment. I've used the limes cream, and I loved it but I never hear the soaps being mentioned. For those that use them, how do they rate against the creams or other soaps?

I love my GFT Spanish Leather cream but I think their soaps take a back seat to many other products - the most common comparison being the fine DR Harris line. In fairness, it's been a while since I gave them a spin but I expect someone else will weigh in soon.

I really love the tallow version of their soaps from a few years ago. The current veggie version is still a very good soap with nice scents but, I personally prefer the performance of the D.R. Harris soaps. YMMV, of course.

their lime soap is nice, but the scent doesn't do it for me. however, the scent doesn't stop me from using it.

I never had any problems with the current Trumper soaps and I really like the sandalwood one,as well as the,Rose, Violet and Coconut. The Eucris has a great scent but its not as good as the other ones when I talk about skin care protection.I havent tried the limes or the almond one.

Teiste, what's your description of the Eucris scent and if you know, is it the same as the EdT?

I'm not much on creams. I feel that soaps provide a slicker lather, and with a straight that means the world. No amount of cushion will stop the "feedback" a straight will provide. I used the limes cream with my DE and it was a great shave. I find it disappointing that the soap seems to be lacking.

I've had a couple of their veggie soaps and got rid of them. In my opinion they just don't stack up against the top tier soaps.

How does the Trumpers coconut cream compare to Castle Forbes?

Likewise Harris creams vs their soaps?

I like the soaps.

CF Lavender is the only cream I've kept.

Havent tried the EDT,but the scent its really manly and elegant, with some fresh notes. With the Taylor of Old Bod Street shaving soap and the Scottish Fine shaving soap, one of the most elegant ones on the "cheap" side (compare it with Floris,Creed or Penhaligons shaving soaps)

I suspect the samples I bought were during the transition from the old to the new. Some were really good and some were easily forgetable. That's unfortunate. They had quite a good reputation when I bought my GFT samples.

I bet they still offer the samples. Did you check the site? Nothing like making up your own mind. It wasn't a terrible deal for all the samples I got. While I was at it I bought one for my buddy... just a hint if you have friends who shave with a blade and brush.

I like my GFT Rose soap, but don't plan on trying any others. Harris soaps have better performance. I really didn't like GFT or Harris creams.
