here are the injectors I have picked up over the past few months. I only shave with injectors, and have sold off all of the other DE razors that I had, which wasn't many.

from left to right:
G1, E2, L1, F, J, J, and an I1. With the two model Js, I'm not sure exactly which model they are. Both have different markings on the head of the razor, one says eversharp and the other says schick. also, the schick does not say made in USA while the eversharp one does.

Very nice collection! That F in particular catches my eye, I may need to look for one of those. I recently purchased my first injector, the Stick Schick, and I love it!

I bought that one along with 2 other razors for $20. with the type F came a Gillette New and a Segal. Sold the Gillette and the Segal and actually made money. Biggrin

That Type F catches my eye, too, Andrew. The Type L is what I learned to shave with, somewhere back around 1967. At that time, the choice was between a Schick Injector or a Gillette DE. I don't remember ever seeing SE razors.

That's a nice looking collection.

The injectors are definitely not in the spotlight, but they are very nice in their own way. They are slowly coming to my attention at antique shops, I'll probably start picking them up when I see them now. Hopefully I can manage a good deal like you!

I did a lot of ebay shopping for mine. I wish the blades were easier to find locally.

Beauties. I love my injectors and always seem to have more on the way from any number of sources. I guess I need to retry one of the older injectors as well. I like the more modern ones better but didn't give the others much of a chance.

Very nice Collection!

I love my injectors as well. I have two type-Es, two G1s, a G6 and an Easy Rider (L).
The Es give a spectacular shave, but demand respect. The Gs and above are easy going
and give a great shave too, just not as aggressive as the Es.

I'm not quite ready to sever ties with my other razors, but I can see how one would make that call... Have you tried any GEM SE razors? It would be tough to give up my Micromatic Clog-Pruf and Bullet-Tip. I'd also miss the massive variety of blades in the DEs.

I'll be interested to know what you think of the E when you try it, Andrew. The shave I get from it is much better than the one I get from my I-2 Hydro-Magic.

Very nice! I have a few injectors and I can get a pretty good shave from them but I have trouble getting the "key" to work correctly most of the time. I do not have many blades for them so I only use them once in a while. It just seems like the key is made so cheap that it falls apart. - Anybody have this problem or can tell me what I am doing wrong? Also where is a good source for blades?

Bill, are you using ASR/Personna/Store-brand injector blades? If so, the magazine and key aren't as sturdy as those put out by Schick.

I haven't used them yet, myself, but the newest Chinese-made Schick blades are supposed to be pretty good and the magazine/key is sturdy and works well. The late German-made Schicks were not well regarded, but the magazine/key unit was good.

I enjoy the Chinese Schicks CMur. They give a good close shave. I'm on the Hunt for a Type E. They're supposedly more aggressive than the rest. If anyone has a Type E they'd like to rid themselves of (user grade is fine) please shoot me a PM. I should hopefully have my HydroMagic in the mail tomorrow. Can't wait to load up a blade in it.

Good to hear, Dave! I have a stash of Chinese Schick blades, but I also have a good supply of NOS blades and I don't use my Injector razors very frequently.

To be honest - I am not sure what they are. I purchased a couple of the injectors and the blade key came with it. It is a cheap metal case with white plastic on it. It really is kinda frustrating to use it so I just put it off all the time. Sometimes I will mess around with them in the evening and get a new blade to load and then use it for a few days. The shaves really are very good but I can get as good a shave from my DE or SE with out the hassle.

Bill, that sounds like the ASR magazine/key, which some have found problematic in this regard. It may even be worse with certain Schick razor models. If you got hold of some Schick blades you might like the razor more.

Hi Freddy! Good to "see" you again.

I agree that the E is a different animal than G and onward. I was sliced the first time I used an E, but with caution, the shave is amazing.

You may be right about that - I will keep an eye open for them.

Thanks for the info!
