I, too have become curious about the slant shave. Looking to buy, shorter handle style preferred (37C).

Thanks!

You can buy a new one, most people aren't willing to give one up. If you don't like it, someone will buy it from you. Maybe someone has a spare they could lend you to try? I have 2 Hoffritz slants, but one has a split handle and the shave head falls off--it's getting a custom handle someday.

Anyway, good luck.

It's looking like I'll just pick up a new one. Should tell you something about slants - people aren't letting many of them go. Does the Hoffritz shave differently than a current production Merkur?

Thanks, Bill!

I answered my question regarding the Hoffritz vs Merkur with a little forum research. No noticeable difference in the shave, it seems.

I've actually read that the old Merkurs were a bit more aggressive than the new ones, but I've never had the chance to try a new one to see if there is a difference. The shave heads look slightly different, but beyond that I have no idea.

Congrats on finding one. If you don't like it you'll have no ptoblem selling it.
