Guys, I have not posted here in so long. Reason being, I have been letting my beard grow over the past 9 weeks. I am enjoying the look, however I miss my daily shaves. Not sure why I'm posting this but maybe looking for support from other beardies. Ha![Image: a526f2c80bedac757b6d141ac9cef41b.jpg]

I just shaved off my mustache and goatee this morning! I had only had it for ~3 weeks but it was bugging the crap out of me. Couldn't take it anymore so off it went.

Wow! That is a great-looking beard! As long as you enjoy the look, then keep it. I still think you could at least face-lather it to clean and hydrate it if you really miss your daily shaves! Biggrin

I trimmed mine down last night as well.

I've let mine go for a few months, but it tends to make my face itchy and then the hairs start to curl in on each other and get tangled up...quite annoying. I also hate that my damn mustache hair grows so fast...gets in the way of eating and drinking..

Drew, some good ole jojoba oil and maybe some almond actually helps with all the itching. I made my own "beard oil" so that I can cope with it after I shave it and decide to grow again every few months.

Also, some conditioning and combing helps to make it str8R.

I used to wash my face with oil in the shower. I've recently been using regular bars of soap. Maybe I'll need to give the oil a try again.

As far as combing, I typically will comb my beard every night or once every few days.

I have been combing, brushing and oiling this thing since the beginning. It has helped with itchiness. I think I am going to try face lathering prior to shower just fir fun and to give it a good wash. I've been missing my soaps!

I like the trim but I'm partial to the longer growth now.

I was rocking a beard myself in the early 80's. Everyone was. I shaved it off as a result of a " one condition " job offer.

Beards are cool. In fact, I think a man should leave some of his whiskers showing.

I have worn a beard for over forty years. For the last thirty-five or so, I have shaved my neck and shaped it a little at the cheeks. I also keep it trimmed fairly short now. It is such a part of me that I really can't conceive of shaving it off.

Celestino, a beard normally itches in the early stages, but not after it has reached a certain level of growth. (Then again, you might just be unique ;-)
