More advice needed gents.I'm stuck on everything sandalwood at the moment. That being said, what is a long lasting "strait" sandalwood cologne without any floral notes in your opinions. Something similar to proraso lather cream & captain's choice a/s.

Diptyque Tam Dao isn't too far removed. There's a healthy dose of cedar, especially in the Eau de toilette, but I find the take on sandalwood is in the a me family as Proraso. I hear that the Eau de parfum emphasises the sandalwood but I haven't yet tried it.

Probably the only TRUE sandalwood is Meehan's; made in California and sold by Phil. It's a little more pricy than
the many faux ( but lovely) blends available. It is very long lasting and 'close' scent. I finally exhausted mine and ALWAYS received positive compliments- especially from people who are scent sensitive.

What about Geo F Trumper, I've read it was a classic sandalwood scent. Also TOBS, only it's supposed to have a decent amount of florals which I would like to stay away from.

I have the Sandalwood AS from St. Charles Shave, which I think is an excellent true Sandalwood scent (probably in line with what you're looking for). I imagine their EDT version uses the same scent...worth looking into especially for the price Wink

Is the fragrance your referringto called "Dagger"? I don't see a "sandalwood" listed on their site.

I believe its Santalum Album. You can always shoot them a note and ask. If its anything like their AS (which I assume it is), its a winner.

I think I found it. It's the Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Extract

That's the one...Might be worth sending them an inquiry just to make sure its what you're looking for.

I haven't tried any of their EDTs, but I have to imagine they use the same scents as they do for their AS's...and I have a few of those and they are fantastic. The Sandalwood scent from the AS stays with me most of the day. Very well executed...excellent scents, performance, and value IMO.

Have you tried AoS Sandalwood EdT? Very linear sandalwood fragrance that last about 8 hrs. on me.

I haven't. I find that AoS tends to be overpriced in my experience with their products. Don't get me wrong the products are good just way overpriced mainly due to P&G (big business) monopolizing on the wet shaving niche.

Yes, and you should experience D.R. Harris at least one time in your life. I don't really bother with them anymore after the costly Price Hikes.

They used to be priced very well and respectable.. but now I think it's over priced. I still say give it a shot because you'll probably love the Sandalwood scent. Its very classy and unique.

Keep in mind this is just my opinion when it comes to their prices, and to each its own. I just chose to spend my money on other products that are less expensive and just as good, if not better.

I agree with you on the price. I did recently obtain the Marlborough scent soap as a bday gift which I really enjoy. So much so that i wanted to get the a/s but at $40.00 for 4oz. I'll have to procrastinate a little longer. That said, I will difinately try the sandalwood at some point.

Yea the aftershave used to be $32. And from west coast shaving, you can get an extra 10% off all D R Harris which made it extremely reasonable. The cologne was the biggest jump and most obnoxious lol.
