I don't know about you, but I seem always to have a few spare blades lurking at the bottom of the pile, and well after I have determined which blades work for me best...BUT...I can't resist sometimes using one of these lurkers...waste not want not and all that.

So today I decided to use a nice hefty 1950s ball-end tech, a quite mild razor, but good with a good blade...and what did I load it up with? A Derby. That's right. A Derby. I got down one side of my cheek, optimism unwarrantedly marching toward me, but then I had to face reality. NO! NO!

Aside from the Dorco, is there a worse blade that is in relatively popular use? I find the Merkur blades pretty awful too, but the Derby?

I'm glad it was the last one I had. I have no sentimentality about that, either Smile

My three brothers are completely bald. I have a full head of hair. I don't own or use a comb. They each have one Smile

Ugh! I did the same thing with a CVS brand blade just this morning. I think I would have been better off trying my luck with a steak knife!

I have given up trying blades since finding the ones that work for me. I spend enough time trying most of them in the beginning! Biggrin

Ahh, another Maineiac!

Check the origin of the CVS blade, it'll be very fine print on the cardboard. I thinks it's Korea. That means it's a Dorco.

feel your pain. I missed this post and just put one up with my Waterloo blade. it is a Gillette blue blade. very pretty picture of King Gillette on the front but it sucked.
