I can't say how many of these I've done, I've lost track but they still make me smile.
Naturally I had to straighten the scales as these typically warp. Also someone had "artfully" scratched their initials into the one scale with an old nail I'd guess but not a trace remains.
Cleaned up the blade and removed a slight taper it had. The third photo shows the finish prior to the Gold plating. It has to be as near perfect as the Gold doesn't hide a thing. It just accentuates it. And it's clearer than the factory pieces I've seen.
