During a recent dumpster diving walk of my apartment, I discovered a huge cache of bottled ink; 40 black and 9 violet.
AH! I'm set for a LONG time. The bottles came from an old art store and were labeled for stamp pads.
I filled my Waterman and UGGGHHH it wouldn't flow and I had a job flushing my pen clean.
So, I post an ad in our local 'Pennysaver' a California free ad weekly and at an attractive price.
Couple call up from the next town. 'DON'T SELL ANY! WE ARE ON OUR WAY IN THE CAR! WHATS YOUR ADDRESS?'
I give it and 10 minutes later an old 60s Cadillac with a decided list to starboard pulls up. Lady gets out, all 300+ lbs. She shrieks a Wagnerian wail. 'I thought these were XYZ brand for tie dying! You blankety blank, blankety blank wasted our time. You should pay our gas money!'
I walk back in and they do a U-TURN in front of a police cruiser. Now she's REALLY MAD!
That night a guy calls. He has a Laundromat, knows what I have. But, he only wants 2 bottles. I sell him two for a dollar.
I try donating them to local schools. No one is interested.
I finally give up and they go back in the dumpster. later, I see another scrounger retrieve them yet again.I just picked up my mail with this week's Pennysaver. He's listing them now.
I hope the fat lady calls himBiggrin

Mea Culpa Yes, I did: I thought ink is ink, right? So, now somebody ENLIGHTEN me. All these pen companies have proprietory ink, right? Can I use ANY dedicated fountain pen ink in ANY fountain pen?

Kav, most inks that state they are for fountain pen use should work just fine. Look at Watermans, Diamine, Sheaffer, etc. and I'm sure you'll find something you like. Smile

I went to write a note today and had to refill. My Waterman opened to a converter unit leaking from the top. I figure either the long storage time between affording ink and/or my
foolish economy blew the red sealAngry
$10 on EBAY procured a new one.
