A cabinet from a junk shop, already distressed. A few added
magnets, in this case 7. A board and some time spent.

Nothing fancy just a way to be acceptable to the SO.

I agree, nice. The razors do look just a little precarious.

Actually any small rare earth magnet will do the job. I have used 3mm dia. x 4mm high and can walk around the room with the razors swinging from them. They are cheap on the 'bay and a hundred is under $10.

Very nice find. If it could only talk to tell you how many faces it has seen. Can you estimate its age?

That is a great old Oak piece. Well cared for and a positive addition wherever it hangs!

They are from probably the forties. NOS, and the product is good. Men's toiletries do not seem to go bad like some women's products. I have heard of a batch of Hai Karate that went bad, but that's all. Maybe the cheaper ingredients have some thing to do with that.OR.. the high alcohol level!52% alcohol.

Looks great Richard. I need to visit some antique shops in WI. That bottle of Hess Rose Face Oil really brings back good memories. When I was a kid my barber used Hess Rose Hair Oil on everyone. We sure smelled good back then.

Hi Johnny,
Good idea, there is still gold in them there hills!
I got the last of the vintage HESS products from his son in St Paul,MN.(Still in business) Another buddy grabbed the rest of the ancient stuff from there. Including full boxes of NOS HESS straight razors so corroded that all that was left was the spines. Was not much left by the time we got there either. Nothing by the time we left!
No web page for them but they do sell beauty products, Hair styling razors, and small new Dovos.
~Richard
PS the razor case went as a door prize at the KC razor get together.
