No. You can make great lather in any bowl.  You're welcome.

Its a great bowl Ive had mine for a little under a month and havent gone back to my fine bowl once.  The bowl is smooth but reacts to lathering like a textured bowl, I wonder if this is because it is brushed.  Maybe that gives it texture that is hard to see or to feel.  I dont know the science, but the proof is in the lather and this bowl performs.

I received mine today and well after using it for a bit I would say that If anyone is on the fence about purchasing one of these, I would just say 'go for it' this thing is worth every penny and the pictures do not do it justice as it looks better in person, the bowl just screams quality.

Even the packaging is top notch. There's like this meshed brown paper never seen it before.

Great bowl...i put a small stainless cabinet knob  to make it easier to hold...just drill a small hole and use a shortened screw...works great.

I shave in the shower so the bowl need to be small enough to fit on the little shelf. Moving from porcelain to stainless boosted my piece of mind. The Aesob bowl is pretty fantastic.

NO NEED to drill a hole in a bowl that is made of magnetic material!  (for example)
