Just a beautiful set I had the pleasure of restoring. The blades were in decent shape which required some sanding and polishing to bring them up to par.
The scales had the usual dull listless appearance which came back to a beautiful shine.
Unfortunately one of the scales had a chip on the inside which I was able to repair.
Instead of reusing the white plastic wedges for these wonderful blades I used Ivory instead. Somehow it just seemed more fitting for these razors than plastic though at a glance they look essentially the same. But just knowing that it's not makes all the difference.

I can only dream of such razors, never been able to find one in really good condition for a reasonable price. You delivered once again, beautiful!

CVH's , in really good condition, sheathed in genuine tortoise . And getting it for a reasonable price is a contradiction of terms. They always come mighty dear unless somebody doesn't know what they're selling.
Hopefully you'll get lucky someday. Keep looking.

Simply beautiful work Mark. Getting trusted with a pair of CVH in tortoise is a testament to the faith people have in you.

There is no such thing as hawkswing tortoise and a reasonable price, unless as Mark stated someone selling them has no idea what they have. Boxed pairs and 7 day sets do show up on eBay, if you can afford the up front cash you can always buy the set and then sell off the other one or others. It may help off set a lot of the cost, but no matter what they will not be cheap.

Ugh.. not one MK32, but two!!

Simply beautiful.

Washerless or just a really nice job pinning them? The tortoise looks amazing and I completely agree that the ivory is the right move.

I know, the reasonable price I mentioned wasn't meant as in cheap :-)

I think I'll drop the tortoise dream and look for one where the blade is in really good condition otherwise I'll never get one.

Keep your eyes pealed. Never know where one will come from. If you can land a tortoise MK32 it is fully worth the cost of entry.

Now I just need to lay my fingers on a MK32 with ivory scales...

Those are actually pretty easy to find on eBay. Key things to look for are in the description something along the lines of "a natural material" since the word Ivory, tusk or anything near that throws off alarms and eBay won't let it get listed. Also, check the pins, Ivory for the CVH is always washerless. You can find some great buys in a relatively short time. I have an Ivory MK31 to go with my Tortoise MK32. Very lovely set. The one I kept is the one on the mini platform in the above pictures. The other is already sold off to a friend.
