I had a Ch3 Super and loved the knot, however, I found the handle was too big. I sold it and got a Ch2 Best, sadly now I'm missing the Super knot. So I plan on selling this one to get a Ch2 Super. LOL

Coming from a colonel, either option will be amazing. Obvious the Super is better. If you can swing the difference then I would do it.
Just remember Simpons are premium price brushes, you can definitely get more bang for your buck else where. I just happen to really like Simpsons so it's a no brainier.

I have a Ch2 Best and it's a lather hog. It does NOT live up to the hype IMO. I have tried everything; it takes a LOT of product to get the same kind of lather as the far cheaper (larger) Commodore, so make of that what you will. I like the idea of the Ch2 more than the thing itself. The handle is right, though. The older (Somerset/Nimmer) Chubbies were far better: I know, I have one. It's more like super badger. I have a Ch1 Super and it's superb. If you can afford it, go for the super. Prices are way over the top though.

I would go with the Chubby 2 Super if you can find a used one, or place a WTB ad. I find the knot in these denser than in Best and a bit softer, in my opinion. I believe there is one still for sale in the BST: http://shavenook.com/thread-fs-simpsons-...nd-saeryan
Best of luck.

I have only used Simpsons Best and I like them a lot. My next Simpsons, however, will probably be a Chubby 1 Super. I say go for the Super.

Best, no question about it. I have several Simpson brushes with best and super, and I much prefer the best in terms of face feel, density and overall performance.

Both are nice but Super is worth the extra money.

I have had one Simpsons Three Band Super. It is the only brush I have sold. I have at least a dozen in Best that are keepers. That Super brush was prickly and hogged lather no matter what I did. I hated it.

Hmm seems to be even for both sides i do like the best and didnt want to go with super and not like it but i may just have to take a chance. Will definitely look for a used one here but best is still not totally out of question.

I doubt you will have any problem selling either if you get one and don't like it! Smile

If Super, Go for The Best Super, which is Silvertip 2-Band and Manchurian

I had a CH2 in Best and sold it. I then bought one in 3-Band Super and sold that also. Both brushes, I found, were lather hogs. The next step to Manchurian is my perfect brush with superior flow. They are more expensive still, however, this brush is going nowhere.... it's that good.

Each of my two band Simpson Supers is different with regards to softness and backbone.

Emperor 1 has the most "scritch/scrub"
Tulip 3 has some "tip definition" (but not quite scritch/scrub)
M7 is really soft and luxurious, also less dense than the others
Duke 1 (Nimmer Mill era) is soft and luxurious just like the M7

No prickle from any of them and great flow.

Best is always a pretty safe bet (maybe not for Special/Case/Wee Scott, though), Super 2 band (Silvertip) is an absolute sure bet. Super 3 band for me (but I'm jaded) is a bigger risk than the other two options.

I was a bit disappointed with my Duke 3 in Best in all honesty. So much so that I sold it about 3 weeks after I got it. I now have a Manchurian and I love it so I think if you can afford it then by all means go Super because it makes a hell of a difference

My only Simpson is an Emperor 2 and it is easily the densest, softest badger in my rotation.
