I just had my first shave with the Ikon Shavecraft 102 slant. It was probably the best shave of my life. For me, if was extremely comfortable, and felt as if I couldn't nick or cut myself even if I tried (which I did not). For me, significantly more comfortable than the Merkur 37C -- which is very good itself. Both the 102 and 37c give excellent BBS shaves effortlessly.

Here is the backstory. At age 69, I started with a DE as a teenager, and took up wetshaving again 4 years ago. I have tried numerous DEs and one SE. The slants beat 'em all, and 102 is at the top of the list.

Congratulations Craig on liking the 102 slant. I just got mine today and will review it tomorrow. I have learnt over the years that a razor which appears to have a shallow blade exposure means nothing as it's the overall mechanics of the razor that determine BBS from just an ordinary shave.

Craig, I'm glad that you're getting great results with the new razor, and thanks for sharing your thoughts. I've been following the threads/reviews of this razor, and so far, they certainly seem positive. I may have to pick one of these up.

Used the 102 this morning...while it is "milder" than my 101, it still produced a BBS shave...with less irritation.

Well, I broke down and ordered one this morning. I am looking forward to comparing it to my 37C.

Let us know how you find it...the 37C never made it to my list of favorites, and I found the 102 to be a significant improvement. Hope you like it too!

I just replaced the bulldog handle with an Above the Tie Atlas handle. Put the iKon Bulldog handle on my DLC Slant head.
