Are there any shaving events on the West Coast? I've read were groups have gathered and given hands-on lessons regarding honing, and I'd really like to meet and greet those who are making a difference in the shaving world in one place as well as put the forum member name to a face. Attendees I'd like to see (the list order is not relevant, it's what came to mind while typing. I don't even know whether those in the list even get along with one another, but it's not about them—it's about shaving):
BullGoose
The Los Angeles Shaving Soap Company
Stirling Soap
Mongoose Razors
Classic Shaving
Old Town Shaving Company
Bill Ellis
Brian Brown
iKon
Max Sprecher Customs
and many others!
I'm tired of reading and writing on forums, and would like to meet and learn. Besides, this whole HTGAM ordeal has really stuck in my craw and tainted the shaving world.

And Sterling Soaps is based out of Killeen, TX unless he has moved.
But California is nice this time of year. Road trip
I have a wedding to go to in Austin in February. Make it March. I seem to remember March being quite pleasant in your part of the country.

Stirling is now located in Arkansas.

Actually they have moved...to Arkansas.

Coincidentally I had heard some rumbles last week that Old Town Shaving Co. was possibly considering holding a shaving event next year. But it is still very much in the exploratory phase right now.

Hahahahaha!
Looks a bit better than ours. We have been having rain for the past two weeks and it is pitch black by 4pm.
Although it seems to be a bit better for the upcoming week.

I clicked on this thinking http://www.westcoasthshaving.com was having an event, haha.
I know a few of the FB groups have had meet-ups but it seems like most of them are on the east coast. Perhaps you can schedule a meet and greet for the west coasters.

I've heard of this "other coast that you speak of.

The coastal get together sounds like a great idea.
I just want to take exception with one thing that you said. The HTGAM affair hasn't sullied the wet shaving world, which has never been stronger. The HTGAM affair has tainted HTGAM.

Something like that would be a blast. Chicago had the "Great Shave" a few years in a row (right before I got into wet shaving), but I haven't heard anything the last 2 years. I would like to host something like that in Milwaukee. I know there is even a great barbershop that would probably let us host there too. It's on my list of things to look at doing next year. If not a full blown event, at least a get together.
