I just bought a 15 pack of Feather Proguard blades, a pack I sold just 2-3 weeks ago when I sold my Feather AC razor - so now I bought it again, at a loss - traditional wetshaving will most certainly make you spend MORE money Biggrin Tongue

Also bought a pack of the Feather Pro blades.

Have inquired about buying the Mongoose head, so wonder what your favorite blade is for the Mongoose ?

I like the Feather Pro, Pro Guard and Super blades in the Mongoose. The Pro Guards do not seem to get a lot of love on the forums but I like the blade a lot. I find it to be smoother than the Pro and just as efficient for me. It feels like the Pro Guard is a little stiffer than the Pro to me. The Super gives me the closes and longest lasting shave of any blade and razor combination I have tried. After using the Supers for a few shaves and going back to the Pro it almost feels like there is not a blade in the razor. Those are my thoughts on the Feather blades.

Rob_W is right on when he talks about going from using a Super to a Pro. When you get accustomed to the larger blade exposure from the super then the Pros are almost imperceptible.

Feather Pro for me. Cheapest as well as the most efficient without being overly aggressive. Supers are nice but Pros win. Supers do offer a very close shave with minimal effort.

Today was #18 on a Feather Pro. Only noticing some slight dullness during ATG on my upper lip.

Just paid for mine in the new Satin finish w/ Dr. Bomber Handle and will order both Kai Milds and Feather Pros for it. Good move?

Classic move. From those two blades you will either find one that works well or you'll know exactly which way to go for your next blade.

Feather Pros are nice, but I find the Standard Kai blades to be smoother, great as a daily driver.  When I'm going for an exceptionally close shave, will pop in a Kai Sharp.

I found the Kai Milds to be too dull, much prefer the standard Kais.

Strictly Feather Supers for me.  For me they shave close and smooth.

Alot of Feather lover's here!  Curious how many have tried the Kai's as well?

Fyi, I've tried pretty much all the blade options for the Mongoose.

Kai Milds were horrendous for me. I'll eventually try the Kai Sharps but I'm in no hurry. Especially with how long thebFesther blades last for me.

Agreed, milds were awful for me. Standard Kais and the Sharps are a very different animal.

I get about 12 shaves per blade.

So after I get my mongoose my plan is to order some blades to try out from TryABlade but after I find out which I like. Where is the best place to get blades in bulk at a good price?

So there is a standard Kai and Kai sharp? They are two different things?

Yes, Kai has 4 blades that fit the Mongoose - Mild, Standard (Captain Original), Sharp, and Protouch (Mild with a guard).  Tryablade sells all 4.

Anyone tried the Kamisori's?  Curious how they compare to Feather's and Kai's offerings.
