ran across this from one of our rep houses, and it was actually a winner of the jury prize at the midwest independent film festival.
it's a short (12 minute) documentary by a guy named seth henrikson, and seemed like something that would be interesting to our
little group here... hope you enjoy!

Although I think that would be a great experience, I cannot see myself standing outside for 5 hours waiting for a haircut.

i hear ya! =p
i've got a problem waiting in line at restaurants that don't take reservations, so this would be almost torturous is some respect. on the
other hand, i don't mind so much waiting if there's a bar... so as long as they keep the beers coming, i might be able to suffer through it. Biggrin

but i'd also have to have a few extra days to waste in rotterdamn, and that likelihood is rather scarce.

There are some pretty trendy barbershops here in Portland as well that offer a beer/shot, cigar, etc with the hipster barbers making a killing. I just buzz my own hair and enjoy shaving myself, but there is always a large group of guys at these shops willing to pay top dollar so it must be worth it.

well after a little research, looks like rotterdam doesn't have the monopoly on retro-throwback barbers. type "rockabilly barber" into yelp,
and there's a good chance you can find something similar in your area... my search of chicago laded me at pete's barbershop.

http://www.petesbarbershopchicago.com/

two chairs, hour-long waits, no ladies, beers and mags... the formula seems pretty straight-forward. =p i'll have to take a day off from work
and head over for a cut in the next week or so, see if i should keep on rocking the side-part pomp i'm working on.
