It was time for me to try a new soap. I got two CBs on the way: Ocean Grove and La Terre Verte. What should I expect?

I don't know as I've not used them, but they are on my list of soaps to try. Have heard great things about them.

They are both very good soaps that lather like crazy. I also think you will like the scents.

Definitely one of my top three soaps. I haven't tried those particular scents, but I haven't had a bad shave with the lather produced by Catie's Bubbles soaps.

Chris' soaps load very easily so it's easy to over load when first using them. I would do one test lather just to dial it in. His soaps all perform very well and he has a nice selection of scents. La Terre Verte is a Fougère type (incredible scent), I haven't tried the Ocean Grove. Good luck with your new soaps.

I think these soaps are about as good as it gets--easy to lather, plenty of cushion and glide, and leave your face feeling great. La Terre Verte and Le Piment de la Vie are two of my favorite scents, but I also like several others. I haven't tried Ocean Grove and would be interested in what you think.

I jumped on the Catie's band wagon as I didnt want to miss the boat. I got the 420 and Fruit Loops. The 420 is very a very light fragrance. And for those that are dying to ask but arent, it isnt skunky Smile It's almost a powdery scent and lightly herbaceous. Now the Fruit Loops, that is a dead on match. I havent used them yet, and dont believe in "test lathers", but I have no doubt they will lather and shave wonderfully. I am very pleased with the scents, and Chris' prompt mailing of the product. I think this is another artisan I will have a long relationship with.

Congratulations, Georg! They are very good soap.
You should really try the LPV as it is one of the most complex scents I have ever tried. Biggrin

Catie's Purple Grapefruit may very well be my favorite scent in all of Shavedom, but the soap itself is just below top tier for me. On my face anyway, it isn't quite as slick as some others.......and it isn't quite as moisturizing as some others...... Great scent. Just not quite a great soap. As always, YMMV.

I have the Baileys and I have not been able to get stable lather out of it yet. It's okay on the first pass and then it's just about gone when I go for the second. I've not had this issue with many soaps and given the raves this one gets it is puzzling to me.

I will agree that a little goes a long way. They lather easily. As far as performance, I can not comment. I am allergic to LPV , which is heartbreaking . The smell if LPV is amazing!!!! Good enough that I considered using it even though I was allergic. I decided against an passed it on to someone else to enjoy.

Had the same reaction to LPV, which is an awesome scent. So I'm making do with purple grapefruit. Poor me. Tongue

I like Catie's Bubbles non "floral" scents. I love LPV, and really like the LTV. I also like the Santal (although it could be a bit stronger, scent-wise, for me). I've tried several other CB "floral" ones, and while nice (scent-wise), didn't wow me like the earthy ones. All are top performers for me. And customer service is top-notch! The LPV is my favorite, hands down.

Ok, they arrived quickly.
I will use one of them tomorrow morning, but the scent of both already is positively intoxicating. If they lather as well as they smell, then I may have found a new favorite soap...
