I came across this soap and it caught my attention. Has anyone tried it? It's by "Men's Soap Company" Himalaya with Shea Butter. It's main ingredient is glycerin.

Based on the ingredients, it looks like a melt & pour soap. Personally, I stay away from M&P soaps because I think there are a lot of other soaps that perform significantly better. However, there are a lot of folks who swear by Mama Bear's and Shaving Yeti, and get great performance out of those.

I wonder if it would be noticeably better than the Col. Conk soaps which also contain a lot of glycerin?

I think you should scratch your itch and buy a puck. Then you can report back to the rest of us. I see numerous 'artisan' soaps and the results are as mixed as the big names. Artisan bread ( I hate the very term artisan) can be some organic brick with tree twigs sticking out and major brands can be tissue paper white, enriched ephemeral no better than the wrapping paper holding the sandwich.

I have never heard of it, but I, also, agree that you should buy a puck to try it out and report back. Biggrin

I already know that MWF is good stuff. I was just curious about this soap. I may bite the bullet and order a puck.

Besides the $13.00 it cost, I now have about a 6 year supply of soap now. I hate to buy one I may not like. I could just give it away if I don't like it.

I think it's funny how soap makers are starting to put "Saponifiying Agent" after Sodium Hydroxide, are people really that afraid of the word Lye?

I think it's kinda scary that the number one ingredient is glycerin. I'm also not a real fan of sorbitol in a soap.

So, for me, it's a pass. I would not expect this to be a great shave soap.
