This is an excellent example of how News reporting has evolved. In the 1960's the story that would have gone 'viral' would be how a probe was landed on a moving Comet. In 2014 it is 'what shirt the spokesperson is wearing' that goes 'viral' while the probe story is a footnote in history.

Imagine how much actual history has been lost to mankind because we are investigating the meaning of a shirt, tie, or shoes that the speaker is wearing as opposed to the historical event.

As a footnote perhaps the spokesperson should have kept to a white shirt and black tie...now that would have been an interesting news story...

Put me in the boat for "as long as they bathe regularly and are wearing clothing, then they are ok in my book".

As a software engineer, back in college many in my classes opted for all night and weekend video game sessions instead of hygiene sessions. Brains rarely equals people skills.
