After reading so much about DR Harris Arlington on the Nook I really want to try some. Which is the better performer, the soap or the Cream? I'm also considering some windsor as well. I have tried the Marlborough in the past and didn't care for it.

I find D.R. Harris soaps, including Arlington, to be superb. For me, their creams are less exceptional.

Thank you jaguar. Worth the extra cost for the wooden bowl or no?

Both are great. I'd lean to towards the soap though as more fun to use.

Harris bowls are lovely btw.

I haven't tried the cream, but I absolutely love the soap. Nearly effortless perfect lather with an incredible scent. It's actually the only soap I have a backup puck of because I know I will continue to use it. The bowl is quite pretty as well.

My vote goes for the better performing soap and the aesthetically pleasing wooden bowl.

The cream is not bad but the soap is better to me.

I always get the bowl and then add refills.

Dave, in my opinion the wooden bowls are worth the extra cost. They are well made and aesthetically pleasing. In the future, you will need to purchase only the puck.

I have ordered the Soap and the Wooden Bowl. Thank you all for your recommendations. If I like it, then I'll probably get the whole line in typical Dave Fashion.

I have the Lavender, and it is superb! Have had a sample of Almond soap, which is a great performer. Smells nothing like almond; very clean scent reminding some of eau de quinine. Waiting for Windors "towelette" to sample that, and may order a sample of Arlington. Getting ready to give up on sampling MW, Razorock and others, and sticking to a brand that I know really works well - D.R. Harris!

The cream scent is a little bit stonger but the soap is better skin care wise.Ill go for the soap.

I love my soap, but I don't tend to go for the fancy bowls.

Point of trivia: a refill puck of DR Harris soap fits almost exactly into an Anchor-Hocking custard cup.

Arlington (in the mahogany bowl) is my #1 soap. I was disappointed in the one Harris cream that I tried and don't plan on trying any more.

i met up with someone the other day (not sure if he would want it mentioned so ill leave his name out) and he brought his arlington soap, i loved that stuff, seemed in line with RR XXX scent to me, and it was also very close to the 4711 a/s the member brought to share as well, great pair to go together if you love the arlington

Harris soaps are great performers, the lather reminds me a lot of MWF. I like the Arlignton scent, it is very light and clean, although I do wish it was a litle stronger.
