I started using this soap to wash my face while in the shower about a week ago and it's absolutely FANTASTIC. Prior to a week ago, I was using PdP lavender soap, for about 5-6 months now. While the PdP bath soap is nice, at times I felt my skin drying up. Since I started using the mysore sandalwood soap, my face has stayed soft, and I'm loving it.

This soap can be found primarily in Indian stores and online. I know Amazon sells some. I have a place local to me that sells it for $1.29 per bar, plus tax.

what do you guys think of the soap?

I thank you for mine Andrew. I used it in my last shower and it does seem more moisturizing than anything else I have tried. Being someone who enjoys sandalwood, I like it even more.

I've been using the Mysore Sandalwood Soap as my shower/pre-shave soap for a couple of years and continue to be delighted with the results. My skin is dry, and the MSS does a great job of moistening without being greasy.

I like Mysore, its been a family favorite for some years now,I buy mine locally, it comes in 2 sizes. I use it as a bath soap, as a shaving soap though, its pretty bad.

I discovered recently an inexpensive face soap at the same Indian market I buy Mysore. Its called Margo Glycerine Soap w/neem extract, the box touts the glycerine as the moisturizer. It seems to be a milder version of Mr. Glo, nice preshave soap, leaves the skin slightly slick. It seems marketed as a woman's facial soap, used as a preshave soap though my shaves have greatly improved.

my local Indian market also sells Margo soap with neem. On the recommendation of Yohann, I picked up a bar of it to eventually try and also sent a bar down to Dave.

Wow that's cool Andrew. You sent it out without even knowing.

I will try it as a preshave in the morning

This is my go to as well...Have been using for the last year or so and its great. I too have dry skin, and Mysore keeps it moisturized. I'm fortunate to be surrounded by Indian grocery stores.

Other than Amazon, where can you buy Mysore online? I really want to try it out, but Amazon.ca doesn't carry it.

Seems that Margo makes a couple of different Neem soaps. The one I am pointing out is " Margo Glycerine". Its 4.99 on Amazon but $1 locally, if you want a bar shoot me a pm. I "hoarded" , I mean stocked up on quite a few bars.

Never mind. I found some on Ebay:

Seems reasonably-priced.

How much does it tend to cost in Indian shops?

the one I bought for myself and Dave is the Margo Original Neem with neem oil and vitamin E moisturizer. here's the actual soap: http://www.amazon.com/Margo-Antibacteric...m_sbs_bt_4

I paid $1.29 per bar in the Indian store for the mysore and the margo neem oil soap. I think I also paid $1 for the alum block I got from an Indian store as well. If shipping from the U.S. to Canada is cheaper than buying it on ebay, I'd send you a few bars if you cover the cost of the bars and shipping.

It says Mysore Sandalwood, but I wonder how they can sell this soap so inexpensively? I'm hoarding a stash of real Sandalwood oil, but it's pricey.

if no one posts up a list of the ingredients before I get home from work tonight, I'll snap a photo of the box the soap comes in, or type of the ingredients as the box reads.
