Just bought the TR Vetiver and the TR Lavender.

What should I expect ?

1-2 years ago, Tabula Rasa was rock hard and very fickle when it comes to lathering it.

Now I see videos where the TR cream is very soft and lathers very easily.......

Tabula Rasa seems like it has been going through a reformulation......

I have a tin of it, don't know how old/new it is but I'm going with it's fairly recent (bought in a software lot if I remember correctly). I have the light cream scent and it's very creamy, not hard at all - almost like a tub of TOBS cream.

I find it to be about the best thing I have used that doesn't say Mitchell's on the tin.

I just finished a tub of Vetiver and Tangerine. The only soap I have finished in the last three years.

I think its the argan oil that makes for a wonderful, close comfortable shave.

Yes, its rather soft. More of a cream than a soap or even a croap.

But it consistently delivers a DFS/BBS shave.

I think you'll rather enjoy it.

Mine is stiffer than my other creams, but definitely still a cream, and with a whipped texture.

The performance is top notch. I have the Steampunk scent, which smells like leather and old books to me. Sort of what I'd expect an old London gentleman's club to smell like, but without the cigar smoke.

One of the best performing soaps IMO. Post shave feel is excellent. Scents are nice!

If forced to choose it would be in my top 3

I enjoy the TSN Steampunk but because of the whipped texture I use a lot of product which makes it quite expensive. That being said, it's a keeper.

Nothing but great shaves. I learned to use more with better effect and get the slickest of shaves.

there definitely was an issue a few years back where TR was very hard to lather up...I think Teiste has a video on our channel where he adds a few drops of water to the soap and then mixes it together to give it a better texture so it's more conducive to lathering.

edit- found the video:
