Hi all,

Because of a WTS thread i became very interested in the work of this artisan. But before purchasing some of his work, i would like to know your opinion about his brushes and the type of hair he works with.

http://www.zenshave.com

Thanks in advance.

Are the brushes Rinzai, Soto or Sanbo Kyodan? Shaving has become almost a part of my morning meditation along with chanting a sutra. But I would hesitate to use a product that uses ANY ethnic or religious identity.

I have a Box-Elder 28mm Silvertip - this one to be exact http://www.zenshave.com/shaving-brushes?product_id=202. Rob's work is unparalleled and the knots are great, although I'm not entirely sure where he gets them (I think TGN). It's a very finely made brush and you can see the care and quality that went into the making of it.
Rob is an incredibly kind and helpful guy so if you have any questions don't hesitate! He also responds very quickly to his email.

Rui, I am sure you are familiar with my ZenShave Snakewood.
Rob, the artisan, is extremely talented in making his handles.
I have never tried any of his knots as I have used other knots for my brushes.
I also have an Olivewood handle from him.
I highly recommend his handles! Smile

Thanks Celestino.
So, you choose only the handle with a specific knot measure.

Celestino, did Rob create those handles for you or are they "off the rack"?

I would love to get a Zen Shave brush... Perhaps Rob's interpretation of the Chubby?
