When will these become available for general market? Looks like a mix of a Tradere and a Pils. Very nice.

They were released in a limited number some months back. No word on future possibilities yet.

Far closer to Tradere than PILS. Close to 100% Tradere, actually. The top caps are completely and perfectly interchangeable. They are nice, though. I think the shave is a tad better than Tradere.

Well here is another RazorPlate finished black rhodium ikon sbs. Should be getting it back on Monday to put back in the collection. I have certainly missed this razor and am very glad I trusted Chris to do the plating on this razor. He is a stand up all around nice gentleman who has earned my business.  Thanks again Chris.[Image: H0XpTy5.jpg][Image: vwhM14b.jpg]

I have both an original SBS in black rhodium and an original SBS in its original brass.  Great razors btw.  I'm sort of an Ikon collector with a long handled HP in OC and SB, 2 SBS, an OSS, an S3S, and an original Ikon slant. I and still looking for the Ikon Modern.  Maybe, Ill add the H2O and SK9 / H20.

SBS 2017 is being discontinued, blow out sale now at Italian Barber. Perhaps Tradere secured patent as IB indicates "patent issues".

Rightfully I guess, though the SBS is more a direct copy of the Tradere I guess Pils got there first. I hadn't heard anything about Pils pursuing a patent and it's been quite a few years (2009).

And the Rockwell patent figures in how? The Pils certainly predates it.

Instead of speaking in riddles perhaps you can tell us what you know about the situation (unless Gareth and Morgan have you tied up somewhere).

What razor are you talking about?  The original brass SBS or the newer version?

Nothing in particular.  Just remarking how nicely the design and finish of the newer models have evolved.

Considering that Richard from Tradere is a business law professor, and given the similarities in design between the two razors, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the "patent issue" wasn't with PILS...

No, just Rockwell laying claim to the flippable baseplate patent.
