Arrived today. Looks gorgeous. Especially the handle! The head is a bit lighter than expected (when compared to my Weber or Ikon). Excited to give it a test drive this afternoon!

Congratulations! I received mine, #53, not too long ago. John is already up into the 80s! Thats a good sign, he seems to be cranking them out pretty good for a machined razor.

Enjoy your shaves!

First shave. So just an impression not a final verdict.

Felt a little rough. Not pulling, just like I could feel more blade than normal (I used a Med Prep and B&M soap)... I was worried my face was going to be pissed.

The end result itself ended up fine. Face was not red, didn't hurt, alcohol splash didn't burn more than normal, no nicks. All good signs.

So I'll try a PolSilver tmrw and see how that fairs.

Even if for whatever crazy reason I end up not liking the head, I am NEVER parting with this handle. Flat out gorgeous.

Congrats on receiving it...Looks gorgeous Biggrin

This has become my favorite stainless as well...it worked great with a Feather and even better with a Polsilver SI. I hope it improves for you. Let us know how you find it with a Polsilver...

+1. Feather and BBS razor get along very well.
The Handle is beautiful. It may take few more shaves to get perfect shave.

#74 BBS-1 arrived yesterday and using my usual soap (LASS) and my usual blade (iridium super) I got a better shave then with my beloved Weber.
I worked in a machine shop at the beginning of my career (does anyone remember what a machine shop looks like?) and I find the workmanship of this razor to be exemplary. The finish is first class, the tolerances are very tight and the knurling is aggressive without being rough.
As everyone knows, things do change but right now I think I am down to a rotation of 1 for my razors. A good quality tool that really fits the hand and works smoothly is a thing of beauty. This qualifies.

PolSilver worked better but still rough.

Trying new blades put on hold as I travel tmrw until Thursday. Once I return I will try a Voskhod and a treet platinum.

Have you ever considered the original Super Iridiums? Sharp, smooth and long-lasting. Biggrin

Celestino, I heard it was a myth that the original Super Iridiums were any different from the current Polsilver SIs. I heard the blade was the same blade but with different packaging.

The Polsilver is my only blade. I have rejected all others are inferior, to one degree or another, to the Polsilver SI. At one point I tried one of the original Iridium Supers in a pass-around box; it was OK, but nothing extraordinary to me.

I have about 140 Polsilvers on hand, and I get 5 good shaves out of each one, so I'm set for awhile. Biggrin

Maybe I'm the only one, but to me that handle looks unnecessarily busy.

Too many notes?
I like it. I liked the first batch, smooth handle, too, but I am glad LASSC came out with something more grippy, and something original.
