Thanks everyone...The feel of the natural wood is very nice. Can't wait to get back home to try it out. It's bigger, softer and more beautiful than I expected.

First shave with the Romera this afternoon was excellent. Big and soft, with plenty of backbone to control the flow. Zero scritch no matter what direction I applied.

The handle is pretty beefy. The wood has a nice feel and grip and isn't too heavy for the size...very very comfortable.

Whipped up a nice face lather with some Lavanille, shaved with the Mongoose...it doesn't get any better. What a great knot at at a very reasonable price.

I'll try to take some better pics soon.

Used the Romera today and it was even better. The tips are still wet in the picture , they're very white when dry.
I'm wondering how this compares to the larger Simpson Manchurian knots? Of course one this size is over $450! The Romera is dense with excellent flow through and great face feel, zero scritch.
Now I regret not getting one of the anniversary brushes in horn...hmmmm.

A beautiful brush. I like the way he cut the wood to show the grains. Nice, tight glue lines. Certainly different.

I felt Romero badger is little thinner and softer compare to CH3. Obviously the knot difference to keep in mind.
I have a similar ch2 manchrian which is little thicker hair and more scrubby. I didn't feel the scrubby feel with Gustavo manchurian.
Gustavo's manchurian is always a pleasure to use:-)
Having said that, my CH3 and CH3 has a special place close to my heart !

How do you feel the Romera brushes stack up against an M&F 2XL?

Nick,
I will not compare gustavos manchurian with Lee's 2XL finest as the badger is two different types. I will compare Lees finest maybe with simpson silvertip as they both seems kind a close. On the other hand gustavos manchurian feel so plush and luxury on face with no scritch. The bloom is amazing on the knot. My black wenge manchurian is 26m knot and compare to my latest 2XL finest , the manchurian is softer and more scrubby, My only reservation now is the longevity of the knot/brush. We all know simpson and M&F are top notch quality. I will wait and see how the brush hold up after some time. Overall the knot quality, bloom and face feel is amazing. Highly recommended!!!
