It's been a long time in the works to get what I wanted made up to my standards; far too long in fact. But it's in the final leg.

The soap is made by Seifenglatt with Acadian Spice Bay Rum scent formulated by yours truly.

Some samples have been handed out by the manufacturer (not by myself) for testing and here is one comment, "Just had a wonderful shave with your new soap followed by your aftershave. You should have done this earlier, this is all I'm going to say Biggrin". More from the same tester, "...It doesn't matter if it's a little more expensive, it really is quality and distinctly KFBR! I've tried so many Bay Rum soaps, but this one smells like nothing I have tried.".

At this time I haven't tested the KFBR soap, but some is coming to me in the very near future. I have used Seifenglatt soap in the past and it's good stuff. It would be a conflict of interest for me to review it, so don't look for that by me.

At this time I don't have a price. And I have no idea when it will be on the website, but Steve knows to expect it and he's really good.

Time will be tight, but I hope to have them shipping in time to get them in users hands for Christmas.

Very nice! I've only used Seifenglatt a couple times but it was a great experience each time. Good luck with the partnership!

Congrats on the soap Brian. Please tell me that there is a KFF or KFFB soap in the works. I'm not really a Bay Rum guy although you do yours really well. I am a huge fan of both the scent and hte performance of Krampert's Finest Frostbite as well as a fan of Seifenglatt soap (which I feel gets far too little attention on the forums).

I agree about the Seifenglatt. Jim has high standards; the same as I do. You can't imagine the cost for the EOs for the soap. But we both wanted it to be right or it wasn't going to happen.

I've been thinking about the Frostbite soap and have experimented with it a bit. The problem that I found is that if the soap is mentholated enough to be worth doing then the kick of the Frostbite is muted in a very big way. The skin can respond to just so much menthol and then there's a cut off. Frostbite is on the fulcrum point of too much menthol and safety, but with a mentholated soap the soap upsets that balance, I'd need to go far over the balance point into the realm of too much menthol and I won't even test that. It would be doable if the soap wasn't mentholated, but then what would be the point? I don't want to simply make stuff to sell, heck, anyone can do that. It must offer something of worth, or worth to my mind at least. I might play with an unmentholated version a bit to see how it strikes me.

Stay tuned is all that I'll write, but don't hold your breath. That's as honest as I can be.

I'm looking forward to trying this soap! I have not uses Seifenglatt yet, but if it matches KFBR, it'll be great.

Maybe a Frankincense scented soap with a little menthol would match Frostbite? I agree that the cold can reach overload levels.

Congratulations Brian. The Acadian Spice bay rum is by far my favorite bay rum scent. Very rich and "mature" if that makes sense. I will definitely check this out.

Having shaved before the mail came today I was only able to hand lather the soap.

I made an ultralather with it and it was better than the Seifenglatt I tested and used just the other day. That's all I'll write.
