I just traded for this travel slant, I am thinking that it may be a Merkur or Hoffritz but I would love other people's opinions. Thank you

I would also say it looks like a Merkur Slant travel razor.
Good luck with it and welcome to the forum! Smile

The handle looks identical to the handle of my Merkur travel razor... so now you got me lusting for a travel slant Wink

I've got one of those. Be mindful of how you insert the smallest handle piece when packing it away for storage.

I've had mine catch the threads and refuse to release. Now, I only insert it female end first which prevents this from occurring.

Thanks for the tip, the gentlemen I traded with mentioned the same thing.

Joedy how do you find the shave?

That razor is virtually identical to a Hoffritz slant that my brother gave me back in the early 80's sometime as I recall. Mine has "Hoffritz N.Y. Germany" engraved on the top plate. These were made for Hoffritz by Merkur. Unfortunately, I do not have the small travel case for it. Nice razor.

Gary,

Although the head geometry is very similar to a Merkur Chessman slant, I've never been able to get as close of a shave with it. I suspect that the extreme light weight of the handle is to attribute to it.

It's a fantastic slant razor for traveling, though. It packs down extremely small.
