I finally got around to the outdoor chores. I cut my grass for the first time this weekend. It was knee high. Then tended to the trimming and flower gardens. It was a lot of work but looks pretty good.

This is looking towards the house and deck.

This is looking from the deck. My wife likes garden art so we have a few things.

That looks great. I'll bet the leaves are wonderful in the fall.

Phil, nice job. It looks great. Would you like to come to WI and do mine?Biggrin

Billy, the leaves are great for shade in the summer and a real pleasure to look at as they change colors in the fall. But when they fall on the ground, they suck.

Very! nice Phil Thumbsup

Love how your garden just runs into the surrounding trees...

It's a little difficult to tell from the second photo, but is that a stone path or brook running from the garden into the trees?

Is that a giraffe standing in your backyard down by the trees?

Very nice view, I hate seeing other peoples houses. I would put a feeder and a salt block just past the fire wood then sit on the deck with a cup of coffee and my 30-30. Now that's hunting! LOL

Do you get any bear trying to kill the giraffe?

Yes it is. We have some yard art and my wife loves giraffes.
This guy is "junkyard art". He is made from old metal parts.

I grew up in PA. NH isn't PA. Winters are tough up here. Plus I think PA Game Commission manages the herd better than NH. I rarely see deer up here.

For years my wife got PA Game News. I think the harvest reports show PA's harvest is bigger than our whole herd up here.

It is a drainage ditch for the vernal pond behind the giraffe. The vernal pond fills with snow melt. But it is usually dry by May. The ditch was there and connects to a pipe that goes under the garage and helps feed the pond out front. I lined it with rock to make it look nicer.
