Gentlemen, the shave den keeps changing. Here is the latest long shot photo. The soaps and cream are kept in the open closet next to the counter. Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words. I still have a few things to add, but this is the general look. My wife plans to stain the two long straight razor racks, which were made for me. My little corner of the world.

Gentlemen, thank you for the kind words. I have fun in my little world.

Celestino: I have a 28mm Savile Row silvertip coming yet, which will bring my brush collection to five. I have tried countless brands of brushes, everything from Simpson to Plisson. I don't care for Simpson, Rooney and some of the other big names. Plisson is way too expensive for what you get. I don't like boar bristle brushes. For me, nothing tops Thater, shavemac and Savile Row (some say shavemac makes Savile Row, but I don't know that). When my novel comes out in the coming weeks and I have some great sales, I will order the shavemac 28mm 167 — I am fond of this model.

Snuff: A few years back, I had a seven day set of Joris, plus a parade of other double edge razors, from Fatip to Weber and iKon, but slowly gave them up, since I shave mostly straight. My current modest DE collection includes the Muhle rose gold and chrome sets. The Edwin Jagger barley and faux ivory plus the Feather DE2 are all coming — I have owned these models before. I have two Gillette sets comprising of Fatboy, Red Tip and Aristocrat, which I am saving for my two grandsons.

Stay well all and have a Merry Christmas.

As long as you find what works best for you, it's all what matters regardless of what others find a must have. Hope you get fantastic sales on the novel and you're hands don't prevent you from using a straight. (you're grandsons are lucky!)

Hello Macko,

Thank you for the kind words.
The arthritis in my hands, especially in the thumbs, which made holding the big and heavy razors difficult, compelled me to sell all my custom razors except the Bob Allman. As of now, I am managing the Allman, but I'm not sure for how much longer. In fact, I have a Ralf Aust and two Wackers, both 7/8 blades and heavy, that I plan to sell, because my hands can't handle them. Age is catching up with me, my friend. These days the 6/8 round points are perfect for me.

Oh my, what a beautiful collection. (I'd love to swap shave dens for a month or two). The custom straight razor racks are the nicest I've seen. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Thank you, Richard. I rather enjoy my humble shave den. The two (12 razors each) custom razor stands have an interesting story:

While perusing the isles at a local hardware store, I started a conversation with a clerk, an amiable former Marine who had served in Vietnam in 1967-1968, about the time I was there with the Fourth Infantry Division. Our conversation led to straight razors and I explained the type of a rack I was looking for. He said he would make two for me. I offered to pay him, but he refused, saying we were brothers. I will always thank him for his kind heart, generosity and talent.

Jerry, thank you for the kind words.

Cobre, thank you, too, for the kind words. The novel, a sweet and sentimental love story set in the world of radio and dance, is titled Will's Music, soon to be published by Figlo Press. You can read more about it on my website: obieyadgar.com

Merry Christmas all.

Wow, nice straight collection. I would be shot if I used that much counter space in the bathroom though.
