I have a little tickle inside me that says TSN will get a huge member boost in the coming weeks as a Great Exodus will happen soon, from a not-so-nice-place to be anymore, to TSN, where it is a really nice place to be!

And I just want to thank the admins here for keeping the BST the way it is. Server costs are understandable, but charging exorbitant fees on every item listed in the name of making it more gentlemanly and old-school is just disgusting.

In fact I'll be making a site donation in the morning to help keep things the way they are here.

+ a bunch!! I've spent a good deal of time at the Nook, and bought several items from members here. I'm glad to embrace this site, and its group of fellas (are there any ladies here?)

Looking forward to participating.

I've had great luck purchasing items here. In fact, I think the only BST items I've purchased have been from the Shavenook. I certainly won't be listing or even purchasing over there again because we all know that prices will rise to cover those new fees.

While I am still new here, I feel right at home. There are fellows I know from another site that make me feel welcome here and I think there will be others soon to come over. I know the admins here are careful not to allow bashing or flaming of the "other" site so I hope that those that make the long journey to join us here feel welcome and we can leave it as a wink and a nod as to why they are here.

As with any move it takes a while to get accustomed to the new surroundings and new neighbors, even the atmosphere. Some of these I am still going through myself. That said, I couldnt be happier.

We actually do have a few ladies here, though participation is spotty. Frankly, I would like to see more, especially wives, daughters, sisters, girlfriends, etc. of existing members. I think it would be excellent if we had enough female regulars that we could have a forum called something like For The Ladies where they could ask questions, give answers, offer helpful hints and have it open to members of both sexes, just as the rest of the site is now. Sometimes the shaving techniques of men and women are just different enough and have just enough in common that I think some wonderful help might be possible in both directions. Just my 2¢.

Yes, after a pretty long career in business, I've learned that we miss out on a lot if we don't have women's input. And I have wondered how their results vary with a larger surface area to shave.

From what I gather, the change at the other site was aimed at least in part at curbing abuses/gaming of the system...a good thing.

The unfortunate part of that, though, is that the people who don't game the system are the ones who end up paying. A most inequitable tax.

I agree with CyanideMetal. It's an inequitable tax on users.

It's a ridiculous structure for small items... far worse than ebay, which is already bad. It's a big money maker for the operators I suppose, if people continue to sell there.

For me, I'll list things here if I have stuff to sell. I would have better feelings about the other site if they just closed down the buying and selling completely. It makes it feel like someone's business venture instead of a friendly place to hang out.

Since joining TSN i find myself frequenting here more than there. TSN has more of a home, friendly, welcoming feel. I have yet to see anyone here be threatened with a ban or their post deleted simply because a Mod did not agree with you no matter how professional you conducted yourself. I did learn a lot from there starting out but not enough to warrant a justification of the sour taste in my mouth left by them.

I'm proud to be a member and contributor here at TSN and in the future will be the only site I contribute to.
