I sprained my ankle or something and it has made it very difficult to stand in the shower then stand to shave at the sink. So I filled up the tub, threw in some Epsom salts, got all my shave equipment together and dove into the tub. Let me tell you if you haven't tried it, you owe yourself a tub shave. So, a triple use tub this morning; soaked the foot, bathed and shaved...all at once. I don't have a hand held mirror so I had to use a mirror from one of my wife's compact. It worked, but was a little tight. It was so good I think I want a tub caddy for Christmas with a nice mirror.

Sincerely,
Mr. Splash

Sounds very relaxing Aaron. I watched an I Love Lucy episode not too long ago, and Ricky had to do the same.

BTW: sorry about your sprained ankle, brotha! Hope it heals sooner than later.

Talk about making Lemonade out of Lemons...

Be careful with crutches and ice in (I don't know if you have ice in Austin).

Wishing you a quick, holiday un-spraining Aaron.

Be careful with the sprained ankle getting in and out of the tub. You don't need to slip and break your back. Hope you get back to normal soon.

Sorry to hear about the ankle Aaron.
It does sound nice and relaxing but I'm worried that I would drop my straight razor.

Thanks guys for all the support and I do mean support. Last week I really ramped up the walking for exercise and the ankle just couldn't take it. Extremely painful. The tub helped a lot though. Now if I can just get the wife to scrub my backBiggrin

That's a cool way of dealing with an unfortunate injury.

I usually shower, as tubs are a bit cramped for me, but I may just have to give this a try someday.

I do enjoy a good tub soak. I may have to try shaving. Need an appropriate mirror though.

I think Ernest Hemingway used to write some of his stories in the tub. Had the typewriter on some sort of tray that he swung over. The stories came out fine.

I think I'll just get a stool and sit in front of the sink, if I hurt my leg. But, the bath idea doesn't sound too bad I guess.

Aaron - sorry to read about your ankle.  I hope it gets better soon.

I read a post about a guy concerned with soap blobs in the sink.  It would blow his mind to think that someone shaved in the bathtub and sat in their shave soap water!

Sounds kind of genius actually, let the brush soak in the warm water while you draw the bath, shave, then bathe. Sounds like an all in one.

I've never shaved in the bathtub, but I've been known to do a bit of singing there:

Sitting in the shave water is not great, so I just rinse the razor in a bowl of hot water. Solved that problem. The real problem was my mirror was fogging up. I just spit on it like divers do with there masks, works like a charm.

Oh, and the ankle is much better...

I was wondering about that and your bowl of hot water solved that problem.  Cleaning your mirror with toothpaste will also help stop that fogging problem.
