Does Floid Blue smells similar to Aqua Velva?

For me, no. I think they are a little close, but I consider them to be different. I enjoy Floid Blue as I find it more subtle and refined, but I'm not that crazy about AV. Of course YMMV and all that...and I've heard of many other wet shavers that find them almost the same Confused

I'm interested in this question as well. I believe I read somewhere it was similar but was its own scent and better performance. I have yet to try the FB but love my AV ice blue.

I agree with Giorgio. They are similar smelling but the Blue has a richer slightly heavier cologne scent , you can smell the difference.

The Spanish AV lists Citronello, Coumarin, Limonene, Linalool Geraniol, Cinnyl, which I am guessing are scent notes? The Blue lists the same ingredients.

I find them similar, the AV reminds me of my father, but I only have FB in my den.

The only thing I find similar is the menthol component, for me the FB is the more pleasing scent.

Floïd Blue without a doubt wins hands down imo. It is more refined in scent and face feel, and you can't beat the glass and Bakelite cap. Here in the states Combe Inc. have turned AV into a cheap novelty item imo. That being said, I still reach for it, and you can't deny, there's something about an Aqua Velva man.

FB is slightly better, AV wins on availability/price. I think both are too cloying for my tastes, and in retrospect I wish I hadn't fallen for the hype and purchased a whole bottle of FB instead of trying it first.

Just because youdon't like it does not mean it's hype. This AS is far from polarizing . Cloying? Move on and get some sleep.

This is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you's. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head. Luckily I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, limber.
