For the past few days I've been using the ER '24 (I misnamed it in my SOTD posts) and have noticed that the shave was less than stellar. It seemed milder. Today I took a close look at it and saw that one end of the blade wasn't up against the stops. I've had this happen before with an ER '14. So I opened up the head and gently bent the spring ends forward slightly. The result was a return to a shave that I'm familiar with from that razor.

Just thought you should know that it can happen for no particular reason. I certainly didn't abuse the razor or an such thing. It just happened.

Yeah, I noticed the way it was designed when I first got mine that this might be possible with this razor. Filed it away for future reference should I experience problems. None so far, but thanks for confirming my observation.

I had the same problem when I got mine off of the "bay". I was angry and thought I got ripped off. I looked at it and may have even posted here asking for help. What ever happened, I did the same remedy and haven't had another problem.

I tried to do that to a recently acquired ER, and I didn't use very much force but spring actually cracked at the point where the bend begins.  Anyone have any idea about how to address this issue?

That's the pits. The spring appears to be riveted on before it's plated, if you've trashed the spring I see no remedy for it. I'd put it in the boneyard for later cannibalization of parts. Please don't throw it away; parts aren't made anymore.

Maybe someone else has some ideas.

I'd get another one. These don't cost much anyways.
