Bought today in Sydney as part of a haul.

This beautiful Valet brush (bristle and hair..that I believe to be badger hair) was made in England, but the date is unknown. I have never seen one before, let alone with the box it came in. Nothing shows in my researches. I'm assuming, therefore, that it's rare.

The pictures show it cleaned up and washed (smell of rubber and tar or something); not the greatest pictures, but may prompt someone to speculate or state what the true date is if they know. I am guessing late 1940s? Possibly earlier.

It weighs in at 42g, the same as the Simpson Case.

The colour is a superb ivory. Underneath (hard to see), it reads (in concentric circles):

"Rubber Cored Made in England Reg. Design 802438"

It seems to be a lathed handle but with a plastic inside plate with the above script.

That's a really nice brush mate. I'm loving the handle design. Smile
