Yerba Mate tea & a (digital) book. A great way to unwind.

What's your relaxed state?

Some good vinyl, full sized headphones, headphone extension cable, couch and a Cherry Coke.

No wireless headphones Bruce, or would that be a disgrace to the vinyl?

I prefer the full sized cans, open design so the sound is a bit more natural.

Nothing wrong with wireless but I don't own any. They always need charging and are prone to interference with all the other wireless and signals in the air these days. I'd hate to be 1/2 way through a movie or LP and have them cut out and have to sit on a charger for 90min to use them again.

All evidence has been buried, all tapes have been erased.

In the summer I sit outside under a walnut tree and enjoy the quiet. Or I go for a walk in the woods with or w/o the dogs.

This time of year it's not very enjoyable to sit outside so I'll watch a movie, or if I only have a little time, check the forums. (NOT (!) emails!)

Any time of the year, cooking is a stress reliever.

Retirement has really helped to bring my stress level down, but not eliminate it. My way to relax is a mix of Brian S. and Bruce with a bit of Brian K. thrown in for good measure. Biggrin That is, a good book (but never an e-book) with a nice cup of tea and some music on the stereo. In the evening, a choice of movie/television program from Netflix or Amazon Prime. My morning ritual is going to one of my two favorite local coffeehouses and relaxing with a double Americano (black, please, no sugar, thank you Winky) and the newspaper.

Even now, I am heading back home to San Diego after spending two days visiting my family in Los Angeles and rather than drive, which takes less time, I am sitting on the train, watching the scenery, chatting with you folks on my iPad, all while listening to the music of Future World Music (Behold).

I'm with Bruce, nothing beats the warm sound of a record spinning on the turntable. Add a drink of some variety to that and I'll be in a fine relaxed state.

These photos show just how close the train gets to the Pacific Ocean on parts of its run between San Diego and Los Angeles and can explain why I find the longer train ride so much more relaxing than driving. Smile

That's beautiful Freddy. I can completely understand your choice and would more than likely make the same decision. That is some stunning scenery.
