Do you guys have difficulty buying jeans, especially those in the UK? I'm quite tall and slim and prefer slim fitted jeans and in 2012 (the last time I bought jeans) I had no difficulty finding them. Retailers such as Topman and Pull&Bear stocked jeans which looked and fit great, even Uniqlo. Pull&Bear, in particular, sold fantastic jeans - great colour, fitting and price.

However, it is now time to buy another set of jeans and I'm having great difficulty finding anything suitable. It seems nowadays that there is no longer a middle ground concerning the fit of jeans. Stores now have straight jeans or super skinny. Not only that, very light blue jeans seem to have gone out of fashion which is my go-to colour. Some shops do have slim fit but feel somewhat loose and baggy whereas others such as Topman have completely done away with their slim fit line.

I wouldn't say I am particularly fussy, light blue slim fit jeans seems pretty standard to me (I also want grey jeans as well) and were widely available in England only a couple of years ago. Living in central London, I have gone to Oxford Street, the two biggest shopping centres in Europe - Westfield White City and Westfield Stratford and even went to the Bullring in Birmingham. Topman, GAP, Banana Republic, Uniqlo, H&M, River Island, Levi etc have nothing. I'm now forced to enter the unpredictable world of online jean shopping.

Where do you gentlemen buy your jeans from, especially those in the UK.

I can't bring myself to spend over $20-30 for a pair of jeans. I'm a Wrangler man, or maybe Levis. I'm very simple. No designs, no holes. So, it makes it difficult to find the more simple things.

I'm only 6 ' 0, but I'm football player solid, so i like 36/34 or sometimes have to get 38/34. I only like boot cut or straights, or loose, but not baggy.

I wear only Levis 501s in indigo or black. The problem for me is the price they want for a simple pair of jeans. Frankly, as a small man (5 feet 6 inches, 32 waist with 30 leg and shirts that require a small 14-1/2 neck) just finding clothes in my size can be a challenge.

Good luck in your quest; I understand the frustration. Sad

Levis are terrible value over here in England, 501s typically cost £80 which would be $120. I hear in the US they are much much cheaper than that.

Thank you, I shall rummage on and try to find the holy grail of well fitting and decent quality jeans!

Jeans are not cheap, and when I find a pair that fits me I use them until the seams give out... thankfully I wear fatigues most of the time Wink

Levi 505's made the switch a few years back to low-rise. Unfortunately, my body never did, so my long-time go-to's went. I've since taken to Wranglers and Lee, and while they're a bit loose I can still sing baritone.

I used to wear the Levi's "shrink to fit" 501's in high school. Boy, were they stiff!! Like a piece of salted cod.LOL Now, in my mid 40's, I wear jeans from Old Navy. Cheap and comfy!!!

I too had to switch to Old Navy. I like loose fit or even baggy jeans (remember Levi silver tab) seems that now a day everyone wants skinny ultra low rise. Dodgy
I like some room to move around and a zipper that's more than 1 1/2" long.
Old Navy & Gap are the only places I can find loose fit, hopefully the current fad will end soon.

That's too bad because Levi's 511 sounds like the jean you're looking for. Can be had for about $40 here.

I've been interested in those. Several of the models have some spandex or elastane in them. I have a pair of Gap selvage raw denim jeans that my mother-in-law insisted on buying for me and they are really well-made but pretty heavy and still pretty rigid even after wearing them for the past year plus.
