Here is an easy way to add a coin with your birth year to a brush. This happens to be a very common Ever Ready that has an indentation in the bottom of the brush that accepts a silver American half dollar perfectly. It has the added benefit of adding some weight to a very light handle. This handle was reworked by Vladimir Ferdman who set a new TGN 2 band finest knot after rounding some of the edges on the brush and I added the 1943 coin by simply gluing it to the bottom.

Great idea. I have a birth year razor and it would be nice to complement it with a birth year brush.

I like it too. Mine would be a Franklin half-dollar.

It is an improvement to the brush in that it alters the weight and makes the handle feel more substantial. It is now one of my favorite brushes to use because of its perfect balance. And so easy to do. Imagine it would work with any of the half dollars. They fit within the ridged bottom perfectly.
