Performance: B&M "Nocturne" (though any B&M will do)
Scent: Shannon's "Cafe Mocha" (also great performance, but a shade below B&M)

This all seems to change monthly though, especially scent-wise. I'd bet there are many who agree with me on that Smile

Mike's is my favorite of the many I've tried, tallow or not. I like the Peppermint Rosemary scent.

B&M -- which also happens to be one of only two artisan's whose non-tallow soaps have also blown me away (which is saying a lot since I'm a deeply-rooted 'tallow' kind of guy).

For tallow I think I like Strop Shoppe best, though B&M, Tiki and Cold River Select are all excellent.

I have also tried many of popular ones. I like the tallow and it is the best for me

Cold River Soap Works Select is the best because in performance and the way my face feels nourished after my shaving. I love the scents of them and want to try even more! Biggrin

I see a few names I have not yet tried. I guess I'll have to pull the trigger on them in the near future.

Strop Shoppe takes the top spot. Mike's, Queen Charlotte, Mystic Waters and Wickham all receive honorable mention. RazoRock also has some great soaps with tallow, but the batch to batch variances and odd availability pattern make it hard to recommend.

B&M and Stirling are like equals in my opinion. It's hard for me to say one is better than the other. They both have their qualities but I'd be hard pressed to find something wrong with either one of them.

QCS & Panna Crema keep me happy when I'm not using Tabac or AOS Tallow.

One thing that I forgot to mention when I typed this is the workmanship and the quality their makers put into their product. Will or Rod are actual real men that are available for discussion and listen to their customers. The fact that they take a minute to answer my call or respond to email feedback is an added quality to their soap product that goes beyond glide, cushion, or tallow.

Mikes is good and Latha is very nice. I'm gonna shave with Latha again tomorrow and see if I get the same shave. I like to get it a little wetter and slicker. We'll see tomorrow.

I think after all the chatter about CRSW I am duty bound to order it and try it and have my wife yell at me some more about packages arriving in the mail.

"Don't you have enough soaps?" Nope.

QCS is my top software and I prefer the cream to the soap. They're tops inn performance for me, slick, protective and great after shave feel.

Their allot of great soaps now some of my other favorites are Stroppe Shop, Razorock Mudder Focker, MdC and Castle Forbes.

Stirling and B&M for me as well.
In fact, I want to buy a ton of their soaps, especially Stirling. I just haven't gotten around to it because there are so many other soaps I haven't tried.
