I believe that means you have something to sell to me :-)

The White is an amazing hair indeed! I have a Flagon Bulb in black. It's nicely dense and just as soft as my Thater at the tips but with more backbone behind it. The handle is really nice and hefty!

Mustafa and Giorgio, have you guys tried the Manchurian Finest Fan knots from Artesania Romera? If so, how would you compare them? By your descriptions it sounds somewhat similar.

Yes I used Gustavo's manchrian . Gustavo's Manchurian is very good but is different type of badger and it's not as soft as wiborg. The tips on Wiborg are amazing.

I think wiborg provide little more backbone.

Now I'm almost tempted to buy one! Biggrin

Very nice! I hope he gets more of the interesting colored handles back in stock for the white badger, I like them better then the black ones on the site now.

I should have one coming in from Gustavo soon...I am interested to do a comparison as well, but I'm sure Mustafa's description is right on. It is hard for me to imagine softer tips than this Wiborg (and I have two Thäters). This is an incredibly good knot and I am very seriously considering ordering another Smile

The Thäter comparison was going to be my next question. Wink So softer then Thäter? I'm even more curious now.

I custom ordered mine, and I believe Mustafa did as well. The wait was a little less than 6 weeks, but this was also during the holidays Biggrin

I'm only one shave in, so I'm not sure how credible my opinion is at this point...I will jump back in after a week or so and give a more accurate description, as I plan on using this exclusively for a while. My official statement as of now is: as soft as Thäter, maybe softer. This, of course, could change...so stand by.

My initial impression is really one of surprise as I was not expecting such softness. I simply love this knot! I have been contemplating a Thäter 4292/5 2 band fan for a while now, and I'm tempted to pick one up and do a more apples to apples comparison as both my Thäter brushes are bulb.

I've been waiting for a comparison of these knots, thanks for taking the first step Cricket203! I can say overall I'm more than interested now.. size wise how big is the Knight style handle as it resembles a M7 to me, but much larger if your knot is clocking in at 28mm.

@ Giorgio, the Vase handle shape is one looker of a handle! Hope you enjoy it!

Knight look bigger in the picture but not that big or tall . Kind a resembles M7 but more affordable. The handle height is 68mm.

If you wanted little smaller and similar to L7 shape you can go with JEWEL or BArBER

Regarding the fan vs bulb...mine is a fan as well, so I couldn't speak to the bulb shape Smile

I own two white badgers - a "Basket" (aka Rover) and a "Barber" (aka Chief or similar). Both are fans with 26/50mm knots.

The current hair batch is indeed the softest Florian has yet offered - at least to my recollection. The knot fair very well compared to other high end 2 Band knots, e.g. M&F ( softer than most Blonde, but about in line with the latest very soft batch Lee has/had on hand), the new shavemac Silvertip or Simpson.

However, I still view Simpson 2 Band (the 2012/13 batch, I have no recent comparison base) as the softest 2 Band hair, but also the one with the least backbone. That is likely why it is only offered in bulb shape to give more firmness to the knot.

Gustavo's Manchurian also possesses very soft tips. However, his knots tend to be very dense ( think XL, Chubby dense) giving them the "wall of badger" feel that some like - I don't, as it negatively impacts flow through.

The Wiborgs are great brushes and especially the latest hair batch is excellent. However, they still need to prove greater consistency in face feel across batches. Thäter knots are the benchmark here, as every 2 Band knot I ever bought has been consistently pillow soft.

I can highly recommend the current Wiborg "white badger" and the handles are well made too.
