Well, new to me. I would like to thank slackskin for offering these to me. I received yesterday an Ever-Ready 1912 and Gem OCMM. Both are lovely.
I decided to try the 1912. Loaded in a Gem PTFE, which slackskin thoughtfully included, and lathered up.
I was surprised by the size of the razor, but as I started to shave, I liked that the smaller size kept my hand closer to my face. It made it easier to maintain the proper angle I feel. It felt like I had better control and feel when shaving.
Anywhoo, 2 passes WTG and XTG gave me a fairly good shave. I was going slow and steady. A little stubble here and there, but overall not a bad shave for the first time with this razor. No nicks, yay. I really like it and can't wait to shave again. Thanks again slackskin.

Still gotta figure out getting under my nose.

Coincidence ... I started with the same razor this week, my first old SE I tried and I love it. Shaves are as good as with a straight. You can go under the nose sideways.

That's good to hear! I live for feedback so that I know that what I'm doing is on target*. Operating in a vacuum is the pits.

* I know what I like and I don't grade on a curve, but the world is so twisted right now that it's easy to question what I make and have made for me. It's good to have feedback from my friends. Feedback is always welcome.

Second shave was even nicer and a little closer. I do believe I'm getting the hang of this razor. Thanks snuff for the nose advice!
I'm really enjoying the shaves.
