It seems I placed this thread under the Straight Razors, when I actually intended to place it under Safety Razors...

Could a Mod please kindly move it...

I've seen razors set up like this in several antique stores here. On at least one occasion the owner got pissy when I pointed out that it was not assembled right. Rolleyes

You should just ask for a discount on the razors since they are unusable in their current state Tongue.

It certainly is a SAFEty razor - you wont be able to cut the stubble, much less your skin...

Actually, a clever seller would call it a faulty prototype and thus it's very rare and should command a premium price. Shok

LMAO!
I've seen a certain very popular seller on ebay list an Old Type Aristocrat as a "Gillette test razor???", when in fact someone filed the teeth down. I pointed out that the entire razor was plated except for the top of the teeth, but he stuck by his guns saying Gillette was always experimenting with designs. I feel bad for the guy that won that razor.

99% of the time I'm browsing the inet on my PS3 and it has a very handy zoom function, plus I have a 48" LCD TV, so details are very easy to see. It's like having a microscope. I could actually see the marks from the file, he said he used a jewelers visor to "inspect" it. Sorry but it was more than obvious itwas filed from my view.

Maybe I'll start butchering razors and call them prototypes. No, Gillette only made 4 Slim handled non-adjustable OC SE Fat Boys! The odds of me having all 4? Umm, I found them packaged together in a box marked Test Lab. LOL

Just because it comes in three easy to assemble pieces does not mean that the user is able to figure out what to do with them!

More than likely a six year old would walk up and say, um, I think it goes the other way!
