Actually, a clever seller would call it a faulty prototype and thus it's very rare and should command a premium price.
I've seen a certain very popular seller on ebay list an Old Type Aristocrat as a "Gillette test razor???", when in fact someone filed the teeth down. I pointed out that the entire razor was plated except for the top of the teeth, but he stuck by his guns saying Gillette was always experimenting with designs. I feel bad for the guy that won that razor.
99% of the time I'm browsing the inet on my PS3 and it has a very handy zoom function, plus I have a 48" LCD TV, so details are very easy to see. It's like having a microscope. I could actually see the marks from the file, he said he used a jewelers visor to "inspect" it. Sorry but it was more than obvious itwas filed from my view.
Maybe I'll start butchering razors and call them prototypes. No, Gillette only made 4 Slim handled non-adjustable OC SE Fat Boys! The odds of me having all 4? Umm, I found them packaged together in a box marked Test Lab. LOL
