His name is James and all his products are made out of stainless steel fully machined. So you get some idea exactly who he is James has been making the infamouse BBS-1 razors for Los Angeles Shaving Soap Company for the past year. He has his own website as Wolfman Razors. At present the way he works it is he sells heads and handles separately not as a set. All his prices are in  CAD (Canadian dollars) so if you live in the US your conversion price is a lot cheaper. All his razor heads and handles are 100% stainless steel. He sells three types of heads (standard bar, open comb and combination OC/SB) in high polish or matte finish. All the heads are currently sold out but he promises more in about two weeks. He has three types of handles which look pretty cool. When I get my SB head I will follow up with pictures but you can easily find his website using Google search. It's always good to see another player in our world of wet shaving.

Everything is sold out. Bummer.

It arrived today and I couldn't resist one pass. Very comparable with the LASSC BB-1 head but a better finish.  It has a flawless high shine that at first looks like a Muhle chrome finish but it's machined stainless steel.  A beautiful smooth as glass shave using a Feather blade. I matched it to an iKon bamboo handle.

Wow that matches up well on the Bamboo handle. Even more enticing hearing about its first shave. Sounds like a solid piece for those who jumped on them!

The finish is absolutely flawless. Blade alignment is perfect as it reminds me of the Mongoose system for locking in the blade. A lot of thought went into this razor head.

I've been using this razor for a couple days now. I have a wall of text incoming with weights, measurements, etc, but I don't have the time or energy tonight.

Short version: Everything about this razor is amazing. I'm a huge fan of the BBS-1, and I'm not about to say that the WR1 is better, it is different, and most definitely in the same class. Absolutely outstanding.

This is the first razor where I really want the dual solid bar/open comb design. I know iKon OSS, SK9, and 101 have that design, but for some reason it's super appealing with Wolfman razors. Definitely will pick one up when it's available again.

I just got off the phone with James from Wolfman Razors. What a great guy! We spoke for about a half an hour and he has graciously invited me to check out his shop later this week. I'll be bringing my camera and taking lots of pics and asking some questions.

James said that he will be starting another run of razors late this week. I hope to be there and maybe watch the process.

First shave with the dual head this morning. Feather blade, Wickham soap and the EJ XL fiber brush. Could not have been better. Excellent results on both the open comb and safety bar side. The OC is particularly smooth.  I like the Ikon dual heads and this may be better. Will order the open comb next time. It is just an outstanding razor head. Used it with a UFO aluminum handle and the balance of the head was perfect with the handle. Plan to use it a couple more times in a row which is very unusual for me. usually rotate a different razor every day but enjoyed this so much will continue with it. I have a BBS-1 from James as well and think this head is just as good. A very skilled machinist with the physics and geometry of the shave head down pretty good. Very satisfied with the Wolfman razor.

I have the BBS-1 razor and handle. Would the Wolfman WR1-SB be similar enough to the BBS-1, that I can use it as a "reference' for the WR1-SB?

That would only leave the Wolfman WR1-OC as a 'needed future purchase'!!?? Smile

I also have the BBS-1 and was wondering how the SB compared to it, for those who have tried both? Do the shaves from the SB feel smoother, milder, more aggressive...etc?
