Rarely seen: the British SuperSpeed Flare Tip II (not a Rocket). This is from the #68 set, circa mid-50s (Mr Razor). 58g.

Looks better in real life than in pictures. I have two British Red Tip Superspeeds, but I have never come across one of these II versions in the wild.

I shaved with this bad boy this morning coupled with a Gillette Platinum. Aggressive, close shave. Hard to fault. Much better than a SuperSpeed IMO. I have to say I am very happy with this addition to my collection/rotation. It shaved me closer than my British Red Tip Superspeeds, too. Just goes that way sometimes, I guess.

That's a great addition to your collection Shaun. I've owned a couple before and they are really nice razors.

Have you tried a TV Rocket yet?

They are very similar razors and both give a great shave. Smile

Man, what a great find Shaun. I love all the old school Gillettes.

A TV Rocket? Love to have one, so no, never shaved with one. There were two, right? (or three?) US and British versions. The latter was Rhodium plated. Both have distinctive knurling no horizontal lines. See:

That's the one Shaun. Smile

The handle is Rhodium plated whilst the head is standard Nickel.

They come up from time-to-time in the UK. I'll let you know the next time I see one for sale. Smile
