Got this from bullgoose a week ago and really like it. Smaller than I thought, but figured it out in 2 days or so. For a smaller knot, I can really load it up and face lather away. I get enough lather for 3 passes easy. Wonderful brush. May turn into my travel brush. Anyone else enjoy this brush?

Good to hear you are enjoying the Berkeley. I haven't tried one, but Simpsons makes some fine brushes. Have fun!  Smile

I know how you feel, sort of. I recieved a Duke 2 for Christmas. When I first looked at the brush,  realized what it cost, and saw it's size, I didn't know if I was going to be happy. Then I used it, and all doubt disappeared.
Wonderful brush, that punches way above it's weight class. Very dense knot, yet good flow through. Best Badger? Hard to credit that. Soft, with no hint of scritch or prickle. Good back bone. Handle is a bit squat, but beautifully executed. Everything about this brush screams quality, and it is the standard by which I judge every brush I use.
Everything I have read about the Berkley is in line with that as well. Congrats on a great brush!

I have a few Simpson brushes with best badger knots and they are all terrific performers.  In the luxury brush market Simpson best badgers are hard to beat in terms of quality, performance and price.

I had three different Simpsons with best hair. Nice brushes but wasn't too crazy about the slight scritch I experienced in all of them.

The 46 in Best is my high-end brush investment so far!
I don't use it as often as my boars, but it's a classy little number.

Funny how people's experience/perception can be so different.  I have 4 Simpson bests (Colonel, Wee Scot, Chubby1 and Phyl/P8)and not a hint of scritch from any of them.  On the other hand my Duke2 in pure is quite scritchy, but not unpleasantly so.

My experience with Simpson Best is the same. Wonderfully soft. But it is Best grade hair. I think some of us get soft, and some of us get some scritch, just depending on what Simpson has in at the moment. Luck of the draw. And boy, did I get lucky!

Hi

I do, see here...

I recently gave away my Simpsons Case to a friend, but kept the Berkeley 46, as I still enjoy using it once in awhile... I think it is an excellent (smaller) brush and the price is pretty hard to beat (IMHO).

Take care, Mike

I think more of a fan shape would be great on this brush.
