I'm having issues when I post using the quick reply box. I type my statement then hit post reply and it double posts on me and I have to delete the 2nd one. Has anyone else had this issue or is it on my end?

I haven't noticed it with anyone else, but I have seen it a few times on your end.

let me see if this is a known issue with mybb.

in the meantime, do you refresh the page while it's sending the reply? do you hit "post" twice? what browser are you using?

edit: it looks like Hanzo is double posting too, as you can see here:

Hi Keith and Andrew -

I just checked a Quick Reply that I did and I found that my message printed twice within the same post. I deleted the duplicate within the post, but you can see that I edited it.

It was here:

Yes, I sure do.

can you make sure you're using the newest available version?

I don't have IE9, but with IE8, if you click the down arrow next to the question mark and go to "about internet explorer", it'll tell you which version you're using.

if you do that and tell me which version you're using, I can probably help you out.

I'm not worried about it anymore. I just won't use the quick reply option.

Williams Warrior, to see if it is Internet Explorer 9 just do the following:

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Click on the litte gear icon in the upper right hand corner, located just below the 'X' used to close the window.

3. Select 'About Internet Explorer' from the menu.

A small dialog will open that says 'Windows Internet Explorer 9' and will display the version. Mine shows version 9.0.8112.16421 and update version 9.0.5.

... and it double posted. My PC is running on Windows 7 64-bit, if that makes any difference. I clearned the browser history, cache, etc. before surfing on over to The Shave Nook.

I have also made posts here using Google Chrome (not sure what version, but it is the latest) on Windows XP and Firefox 10.0.2 on both Windows XP and Windows 7. I also made a few posts using Opera Mobile. All of these work fine.

A regular reply, as opposed to a quick reply, seems to work as it should.
And a quick reply from Firefox, now updated to 11.0, makes only a single post.

I just tried to reply to a post in this thread:

The Shave Nook → Shaving Gear → Safety Razors and Blades → Blades that no longer are produced

and got this response (using Firefox 11.0):

Content Encoding Error

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.

Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

Hmmm... I exited the thread and then went back into it, and the post had actually been made. Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction. Wink
