Best of luck, Ed! These are extremely rare to come by as there are only 100 in existence around the world.

On the other hand, you may want to try to hunt down a SOC 2012 SE, which has the Caravella knot, but is set into a gorgeous solid resin marble SOC handle. These too are limited in numbers, but there are more like 500 of them or so. Also, there is a RazoRock Amici, which is Caravella reloaded. Same handle, same knot, only made for RazoRock a few years later and I believe there may have been 200 of those (I may be off on this number). So unless you are looking for the brush with a ship on the bottom and not a brush to shave with, then you have more choices to try this wonderful mixed hair Semogue. I can attest that my SOC 2012 SE is indeed a wonderful brush.

I hope the Caravela is nicer than the Amici. I just sold mine, the thing was too scritchy which surprised me.

As far as I know Caravella, Amici and SOC 2012 SE have the same knot set at the same loft. My SOC 2012 SE is wonderful, but I like a bit of brush feel. I would not call it scritch, but definitely not a cloud-soft brush. Has a great feel to it and is a soap murderer. Loads half a puck of soap if you let it.

I found one.  Number 58 of 100.

My understanding of the history of this brush is that it was a LE for the foroafeitado.com and barbearclassico.com Spanish and Portuguese shave forums.
Of the100 brushes made, those forums were first in line to purchase a Caravela.  However, some made there way to other vendors and made available to others? From what I can tell, many collectors are looking for one of these brushes; they are scarce and apparently demand a higher price.

If I am incorrect of my understanding of the history, would a more seasoned member make corrections?

I also was able to acquire a Semogue Foroafeitado 2013 Limited Edition (number 20 of 50). Bone handle and a wonderful knot.

I appreciate the seller allowing me to add this brush to my collection.

Ed
