Hi guys,

I was just wandering if it is normal for my 2 bands to feel really coarse when they are dry...

They feel just fine when I use them but I just want to make sure i'm not damaging the brush in any way.

I was thinking that maybe it's because I use a comb to make sure there is no knots in the brush when i'm done ? I do the exact same thing with my 3 bands but none of them have developed that ''sand-papery'' feel when dry.

Thanks !

I am no expert, but my Simpson 2 Band Silvertip is very course when dry, but like you said, when hydrated and lather-loaded...it's sublime. I use a comb occasionally too; I don't think that's either causing the coarseness or hurting the badger hair.  Badger

Seems to be the typical characteristic of these bleached 2-Band hairs, nowadays.

So if the tips are coarse when wet it means that they were bleached ?!? Wow... I'm a bit surprised ! I thought only "lower grade" brushes were bleached. Not Simpsons or M&Fs !

At least they still perform like champs  Thumbup !

This is what I have heard, but I can't verify every single batch of 2-Band hair has been done this way. The much older ones might not have been, but these new 'gel-like' tips or the majority of, if not all, the new 2-Band knots will have some form of bleaching done to them.
As long as you/we are enjoying them, then all the better! Biggrin

I am certain it is a type of hair-bleach as they use in hair-salons, more than likely.
