My first thinking was that Cold River Soap Works changed the labels on their soaps. Will you to be sending a card closed with a red wax seal to the customer? Tongue

Holy Shmoly I think is the phrase to use? I did even come to realize it until I look at it deeper. But you have take the whole concept of Cold River Soap Works and to use it as your own. Except you make the price only $1 less. You even use the same words onto your description of soaps like they do. "But we didn't stop there" Why did you stop there and not just copy the whole website words from them?

I even see they must know already as I make this screenshot from their facebook page.

You should be very much ashamed of yourself!

First, I am not ashamed of myself.  I'm not sure if I should take that as an insult or a compliment.  If you knew how long this was in the works, you would change your opinion.  I did not design the label, nor did I do the copy.  I'm sorry that one sentence of the copy is the same as theirs.  Feel free to comb through every other artisan website to make sure that there are no more.  I can be pretty confident that the person who did has never heard of any other artisan soap maker.  Again, this has been in the works for a long time, too long, but I had family obligations and other work obligations that came before this.  I will certainly apologize to Larry if he feels the same as you do.  I have 3 CRSW soaps, and they are outstanding and they are worthy of all the praise they receive, and more.  But this design and concept, which was started many, many months ago with the help of two other people was in no way geared towards anyone or anything else.  If the use of a black label and similar tins defines me as copying someone else, then you can charge me guilty for that.

Chris, I certainly respect your opinion.  If this is the case, I will certainly drop the product.  I have zero intentions of stepping on anyone's toes.  One person thinking that, not an issue, multiple people will certainly change my thoughts.

I'm not making any judgments either way but I know how these things escalate.   I'm rooting for all the vendors as it's good for all of usSmile

FWIW, I don't have a dog in this fight (never tried CRSW and have never heard of Country Club), but the labels don't strike me as very similar. White type reversed out of a black label, yes, but that's about it. Different style of design, different font--the CRSW label is much more detailed and ornate-looking, the type wraps around the outside of the label, there is a logo, etc. The CC label is much more plain; I would never mistake the two.

I used one of Kevin’s new Country Club soaps for the third time today, La Habana.

La Habana, or Havana, is a complex scent that combines the sweet tobacco note of a Cuban Cigar with roasted tea. Some citrus notes have been added including Bergamot and Orange to mellow the scent.”

Ingredients: Stearic Acid, Water, Coconut Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Cocoa Butter, Glycerin, Fragrance, Tetrasodium EDTA

It is a very good soft soap. It lathers easily and provides me plenty of lather for 3+ passes after loading various brushes for 20 seconds. $15.00-no drama required.

I think the tubs look great.  Still patiently waiting for the tallow version to give it a try.

I do not see any similarities at all between the two labels other than they both are black. Different designs, different fonts, different logos.

The Country Club label shown above is not the one in question. That one has been removed from the thread.

I just saw the tallow soaps up on your site - congrats!  Will you be bringing any of the vegan scents into tallow?

The tallow soaps look very interesting and the labels look classy - congratulations.  When will they be available and will you ship outside of the US?
