I am still pretty new at DE shaving.  I bought a Gillette Super Speed TTO made in 1953 (when I was ten years old) on eBay.  Now I'm looking for a "new" TTO that might work well for a "beginner".  What suggestions might you have?

I still love my '64 Gillette Slim Adjustable. Works wonders and never fails me.

Any of the Vintage Gillette TTO's would work very well; the Fatboy and the Slim are adjustables which will provide some different levels of aggression for you.

Flare Tips are always nice
Red Tips....my travel razor
40's style Super Speeds....I have my grandfathers and I love it
English made Rockets...I have a Rocket Flare Tip and it is a nice smooth shaver

as others have mentioned a Slim adjustable is nice and you can dial it in as mild or aggressive...same with a Fatboy

there are a TON of them out there....the fun is finding the ones you like!

Fatboys & slims are great for adjustables.
Any of the superspeeds from the 50s or 60s are great IMHO. I lean towards adjustables or the red tip personally.

For a new-new one, check out the Cadet razors.

For a current new production TTO, check out The Superior Shave. They have a TTO by Golddachs that is made in Solingen, Germany.

Yes, I second this! The Cadet TTO's are excellent, cheap razors. They're slightly more aggressive than the SuperSpeed's and they're usually pretty well made. I think they're one of the better options out there at this time.

I think Parker makes some TTO Razors that have been well reviewed.

I am certainly enjoying my Parker 22R - my first DE, and still in my stable.

Another vote for the Gillette slim. It is far and away my favorite vintage razor.

I have and enjoy the occasional shave with a Parker 99 TTO.  For vintage I prefer my Fatboy over the Slim but all give good shaves

I think the TTO aristocrats are beautiful. They are expensive though.
